What Is A Water Softener System?
Water is considered “hard” when there is a significant amount of calcium, magnesium, iron, limestone or other minerals in the water. Once the water evaporates, you get either “scaling” (crusty white residue) on your fixtures, shower doors, dishes or orange stains. Orange stains are mostly from the iron that is present in your water source. All of these minerals can clog and damage pipes. Unfortunately, these minerals are very common and can be found in both city water supplies and well water.
Not only do these minerals stick to your fixtures and water using appliances causing costly repair issues, lowering their efficiency and shortening their life… these minerals also end up in your body and on your hair.
Water softener systems remove these minerals from your water source by a process called “ion exchange”. Electrostatically charged plastic beads called “resin” attract and capture the unwanted minerals, leaving your water “softer”, healthier, and cleaner. After all the resin is saturated with the captured minerals, they are rinsed with a brine of sodium which releases the unwanted minerals down your drain and away from your house.
Double L Plumbing is committed to improving the health of your family by improving the quality of your water. We are here to serve your water filter needs and help you choose a system that is right for you, your budget and your health.
You can count on Double L Plumbing for your water filtration and softener needs.

Our Gas Line Services Include the Following:
Plumbing problems are inconvenient and can result in expensive water damage to your home. At Double L Plumbing, we offer several excellent commercial and residential plumbing services in Southern Utah, including drain cleaning.
Clogged drains are an everyday part of home ownership. There is a wide variety of things that can clog a drain. Generally, these are easy fixes. However, sometimes a sink that drains slowly may be a sign of issues beyond just a simple clog. We can assess your problem and determine the appropriate plan of action.
The most common clogs we encounter include:
Kitchen Drains: Anything can go down a kitchen drain—chunks of food, fat, oil, grease and even shards of glass or other materials. If you notice water slowly draining down your kitchen sink, we can help unclog it.
Bathroom Drains: Clogged bathtub and bathroom sink drains can develop from hair, soap, toothpaste, toilet paper, and other bathroom products. Although it may not seem like a problem at first, residue in your pipes can lead to serious damage to your drains and expensive plumbing issues.
Utility Room Drains: Any room equipped with appliances for washing or other domestic work can quickly clog up if not taken care of. Don’t let dirt and debris cause a flood in your home.
Sewer Lines: In our area, sewer lines are often clogged by tree roots or low spots in the sewer line. We can determine what is causing the sewer line blockage.
Though leaks in your home or commercial property may be silent, they can be dangerous to the structure of your building. They generally start off small and are simple fixes. However, left untreated, they can lead to costly and extensive damage down the road.
What To Know About Leaks:
What starts off as a little leak can lead to corrosion over prolonged periods. Stopping a leak quickly is crucial to preventing this from happening. Double L Plumbing has the knowledge and experience to minimize the damage leaky pipes may cause.
Leaks are most commonly found around:
The Dangers of Leaks
What may initially seem harmless can, in actuality, be quite dangerous. With electrical wires and gas lines throughout your home, it’s important that the pipes—and the water and gas that run through them—stay where they belong. A small leak in the wrong place can be a major problem and hazardous to you and your family’s health. Gas line leaks often result in a “rotten egg odor.” If you suspect a leak of this nature, you should contact a plumbing expert immediately.
Signs Of Leaks
Leaks are not always easily detectable. Toilets, faucets, and other exposed leaks can be spotted with a quick glance. However, many leaks that exist in a home are out of the line of sight or are located in hard to reach or see areas. Most leaks require a professional with the right tools and equipment to correctly identify leaks and provide the appropriate plumbing solution.
